Bořek Slezáček – Czech-Silesian-Russian podcaster and actor

Bořek Slezáček is a Czech actor, producer, musician, and presenter, born on May 30, 1967, in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic).

He attended the Technical University of Ostrava and the Gymnázium Ostrava-Zábřeh, earning a degree in economics. After graduation, he spent four years in Spain working for a travel agency. Upon returning to the Czech Republic, he became involved in music and media, playing and singing in several bands, some of which he founded.

His acting career took off in 2020 with the crime series “Místo zločinu Ostrava.” He gained further recognition for his role as a one-eyed mobster in the successful miniseries “Devadesátky” (2022) and as a neighbor in the series “Táta v nesnázích” (2023). He also appeared in the film “Terezín: Láska za zdí” (2023) as Herbert Schmitt.

Slezáček has also participated in international productions, including the German series “Charité.”

Recently, he has been associated with Divadlo Mír, a theater in Ostrava, Czech Republic. One of his notable contributions there is the play “Narozeniny” (Birthdays), which he wrote and also stars in. This satirical and bittersweet story, directed by Jan Hřebejk, explores the dynamics of a birthday celebration gone awry, filled with humor, conflicts, and unexpected twists.
