Künstlerkolonie Nidden zog neben vielen auswärtigen Malern und Literaten zumeist Schüler und Lehrer der Kunstakademie Königsberg an, die in der Abgeschiedenheit des Ortes Ruhe und Inspiration suchten.

Kromě mnoha zahraničních malířů a spisovatelů přitahovala umělecká kolonie Nidden především studenty a učitele z královecké umělecké akademie, kteří hledali klid a inspiraci v odlehlosti místa.
