Kar –    

Mit dem Palmsonntag, eine Woche vor Ostern, beginnt die Karwoche, die am Karsamstag endet. “Kar” oder althochdeutsch “Chara” bedeutet Trauer oder Wehklage – die Woche rückt also den Leidensweg des Jesus von Nazareth in den Mittelpunkt. – Svatý týden začíná Květnou nedělí, týden před Velikonocemi a končí Bílou sobotou. „Kar“ nebo starohornoněmecké „Chara“ znamená smutek nebo nářek – týden se proto zaměřuje na utrpení Ježíše Nazaretského.
