Die Wassermelone hat ihren Ursprung in Zentralafrika. Heute wird sie überwiegend in Spanien, Griechenland und Italien angebaut. 

Meloun má svůj původ ve střední Africe. Dnes se pěstuje především ve Španělsku, Řecku a Itálii.
