Winzer – vinař, výrobce vína

Stejného původu a významu jako angl. vintner (v britské angličtině to znamená obchodník s vínem).  borrowing from the Latin vinitor and therefore incorporates the High German sound shift, in this case /t/ > /ts/. .  Z latinského vinitor, obsahuje zvukový posun t > c, který proběhl v horní němčině.
