In der Meteorologie wird der Begriff "Süden" auch verwendet, um eine bestimmte Region oder ein bestimmtes Klima zu beschreiben, das in südlichen Breiten vorkommt. V meteorologii se termín „jih“ také používá k popisu specifické oblasti nebo klimatu nalezeného v jižních zeměpisných šířkách.
