The Pi’el form is used to indicate that the subject is actively and intensively involved in the action.

In the Pi’el form, which often expresses an intensive or causative action in active voice, a common example is the verb לְלַמֵּד (lelamed), which means "to teach":

• Singular:

• Masculine: הוּא מְלַמֵּד (hu melamed) – He teaches

• Feminine: הִיא מְלַמֶּדֶת (hi melamedet) – She teaches

• Plural:

• Masculine: הֵם מְלַמְּדִים (hem melamdim) – They (m.) teach

• Feminine: הֵן מְלַמְּדוֹת (hen melamdot) – They (f.) teach
