Ifriqiya –

"Shamal Ifriqiya (شمال إفريقيا) is the Arabic term for North Africa. It literally translates to "Northern Africa".

The term often refers to the Maghreb region, which includes countries such as:

Morocco
Algeria
Tunisia
Libya

Sometimes, it also includes Mauritania.

Historically, "Ifriqiya" (إفريقية) specifically referred to a medieval region encompassing present-day Tunisia, eastern Algeria, and Tripolitania (western Libya). This area was a significant province in various empires, including the Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic Caliphates."
